The Moso variety used for textiles reaches maturity in 3–5 years, versus decades for trees. And it grows on rainfall, with almost no irrigation — unlike cotton, one of the thirstiest crops in global agriculture.

Common questions
Is bamboo really greener than cotton? On the growing side, clearly: less water, less spraying, regrowth from the root. On the processing side both fabrics are industrial; there, the difference is the quality of control.
Does the fabric biodegrade? Bamboo fiber is natural cellulose and biodegrades, unlike polyester, which breaks down into microplastics.
What should I check when buying “eco” bedding? Three things: what the fabric is actually made of, what standards the product carries, and whether the seller specifies rather than just declares.
